Tired of being cooped up in your backyard? Why not come and visit ours? We’re pretty proud of it, and we’d be glad to show you what it’s like to live like a northerner! The lodge is strictly boat access, so tow your boat up, or have the lodge manager meet you at the launch, and we’ll supply the boats. If you’ve got a Jet-ski, or Sea-doo, bring that too. You’ll love the river run. Adventure awaits!
Family Friendly
While guests have tons of fun on the water, some of the best memories are made at Little Abitibi Lake Lodge. Being the only property on the shores of Little Abitibi Lake, we are nestled remotely at the North end. As the sun begins to set, and other anglers are forced to navigate the river at the south end of the lake, guests can fish until sundown and enjoy the vistas from our yard, while having a camp fire and a fish fry.
Ice fishing on big Lake Abitibi
A few years back, our friend Bob Izumi made his way to the lodge, for a winter wonderland, ice fishing adventure. Take a minute to read the full article, found on northernontario.travel.
Now we’re talking adventure with this trip. Access is by an old railroad trail that you can drive in on during the spring summer or fall. In the winter you need to use a snow machine. We decided to take two SnoBears in and I believe there were seven or eight snowmobiles as well. The ride was about 20 to 30 miles from where we parked off of the main road outside of the city of Cochrane. It was quite the adventure going in there. Crossing a couple of old bridges and riding along the old railroad line (that they do not use now) really made it feel like we were going far, far off the beaten trail.
